Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist

My professional development includes Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) training under Dr Dan Hughes, enhancing my ability to work with families through an attachment and trauma-informed lens.

As a qualified and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I provide integrative, evidence-based, and trauma-informed support to children, adolescents, and families. My approach combines psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, talking, and creative therapies to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can explore emotions, understand behavioural patterns, and build resilience. I prioritise meeting each individual where they are while considering their unique history, identity, and relationships.

I specialise in addressing a wide range of complex mental health and developmental challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, ASD, and ADHD. Additionally, I have a strong focus on identity exploration and supporting individuals who experience themselves as outside the dominant culture. My work helps young people navigate emotional, cultural, and social differences while fostering a sense of belonging and self-understanding. Where appropriate, I incorporate arts and play therapy to engage clients who may struggle with verbal expression, allowing them to access and process emotions on a deeper level.

Parent and Family Work

I focus on fostering healthy and supportive parent-child relationships through therapeutic work with parents. By guiding them in reflective practice to explore their own emotional challenges and better understand their child’s emotional and behavioural responses, I provide practical strategies to help build stronger, more attuned connections. This process aims to promote greater insight, empathy, and long term improvements within the family system.

Group Therapy

I facilitate group therapy sessions that offer children and adolescents opportunities for social learning, emotional regulation, and connection with peers who may share similar experiences. These sessions provide a safe environment where participants feel heard and supported while building social and emotional skills. Group therapy is especially effective in school settings, where behavioural challenges might otherwise go unnoticed.

I also collaborate with schools to deliver staff training and reflective practice, ensuring a holistic and informed approach to children’s mental health and well-being.
